Thank You For The Honor: Best Latin@ Social Network Leader
The same week we were celebrating our first year anniversary here at LBC, we attended the LATISM {Latinos in Social Media} National Conference and received a huge honor of being named one of the two Best Latin@ Social Network Leaders in a tie with Rebecca Aguilar from Wise Latinas Linked.
When I went up to receive the award I said that this was the first time ever I had won one, but, then again, I had never, ever loved what I do so much and did it with such intense passion. And I meant it.
My two blogs–LBC and SpanglishBaby– and the communities which surround them have become my life passion. LBC for me is an outlet to do what I do best which is connect and for me to make sure that every single one of us Latina bloggers is growing our blogs and our personal selves to levels we didn’t think were possible. Along the way, I want to make sure you know it is possible…and we can do it together. It’s all about the community first.
So here I am, thanking each and every one of you who voted for me and vowing to keep this movement of support, recognition and growth beating to continue shining the spotlight on all of us.
A special thanks to Elianne Ramos and Ana Roca Castro for being the driving force behind the real movement of Latinos in social media. I’m honored to call them mis amigas and to have witnessed first-hand the true power of community and familia these women have harnessed through LATISM.
I can honestly say the LATISM ’11 National Conference exceeded all my expectations and I motivate all of you to start making plans to attend the 2012 conference in Houston, TX. I will be there for sure.

Danielle!!! So, so happy to see you here. Your words mean so much to me because I can say exactly the same about you.
You are too beautiful for words my friend (inside and out). Even though we have never met in person I feel as if I know you. You have been beyond helpful and that is very rare to find. I truly appreciate all your advice and guidance through our blog journey. Best of luck in all that you do.

Ana, I am so happy that I was lucky enough to attend so that I could see you and so many other inspiring and talented Latin@s receive their awards. You deserved it and simply glowed that night! Un abrazote y beso. Y gracias, again, for the Mary Kay mascara … I chucked the other one I had in my makeup bag. : )
