Attracting new readers can sometimes call for creative ideas.  Why not try introducing a food series?

A food series is a succession of posts that follow a theme, format or focus on flavors that you are passionate about.

A series allows you to showcase your talent, provide key knowledge to your readers and attract new readers who are seeking guidance or just something different.

Here are just a few food blog series that I enjoy.

La Cocina de Leslie’s Food of the Month Club ~ At the beginning of each month Leslie announces the Food of the Month. The best part is no cookbooks required, easy to find ingredients and you have an entire month to create a recipe. At the end of the month she posts a round up and with links and pictures to the blogs who participated. Leslie then takes it a step further and invites her readers to join in on the fun also. I love this idea because she is welcoming them to share in her blog, be a participant in her space which creates excitement each month. The bloggers that participate are introduced to Leslie’s audience, which in turn provides them an opportunity to attract new readers.

The Other Side of the Tortilla’s Wordless Wednesday ~ Maura takes a small post and gives it a one-two punch.  A stunning snapshot followed by a few lines that give her readers a tiny glimpse into her life, her travels, her love of food and most importantly her love of Mexico.  What I personally enjoy is at the end of each post, she poses a question to her readers, encouraging conversation.  A weekly conversation adds a homey feel to her blog; she welcomes participation and gives her readers something to look forward to each Wednesday.

Flanboyant Eat’s Flan Fridays ~ A delicious new flan featured every Friday. What’s not to love in this series? Bren’s love for flan reflects her blog’s name and her rock solid recipes keep her readers clamoring for more.  A flan for every season and holiday, from eggnog to blueberry Bren tackles new flavor combinations each week giving her readers exciting new recipes and becoming the go to source flan expert for new readers.

Peru Delight’s Meatless Mondays ~ A series devoted to meatless meals this Mother/Daughter duo offer readers tasty plates loaded with Peruvian flavor.  Today many families are adding meatless meals to their weekly menu planning, so the benefits of adding meatless recipes to your blog are both tasty and helpful.  Sharing the food of their country with healthy alternatives, love it!

Enjoy these few tasty examples to get you motivated to start your own food series.

I had at one started a Pressure Cooking Thursdays where I challenged readers to cooking with an ingredient that I assigned the month before… but not enough ppl have one so I dissolved it. I may start it again since I’m so passionate about it. FlanFridays has been going so well! :) Thanks for the love! Love WW!
