What better way to get share your passion than getting together with friends and build something unique together?

That is just what Dariela (Mami Talks and co-founder of Dari Design Studio), Denisse (Ahorros Para Mamá) and Helena (Pink Guayoyo) did.

These social media amigas took their talents and collaborated on the very first online bilingual holiday gift guide.  With a variety of options from both big box retailers to local businesses, these amigas showcased products that will make excellent gifts for anyone on your list.

To find out more about how these amigas joined forces and created such an amazingly detailed work of art, we ‘sat down’ and asked them.

  1. How did the idea of this Amigas Holiday guide come about?

Helena: It was something that was meant to be. After Top Blogueras, Dariela and I stayed in contact and had skype conversations about our projects almost every week. One of the projects I wanted to work on was a gift guide where I could share my favorite products – the ones I’ve bought or those  reviewed on the blog this year. Asking Dari if she wanted to work together was very natural. Dari is an entrepreneur, very professional, focused, and extremely clear about her brand and her goals.  Plus I was sure the design would be fantastic.  Right around the same time, I was working with Denisse on a project for Ford, and I loved the way she works, how easy going she is and how she is always willing to help. She is a go-getter!  I mentioned the guide to Denisse, and Denisse’s ideas to Dari…and boom! Brainstorming sessions, conference calls, emails and many Google Docs later the 3 Amigas Guide was born.

Denisse: Clearly, Helena was the mastermind in this project. She told me about it, and I immediately knew the gift guide would be beautiful. I couldn’t be happier to have Helena and Dariela as mis amigas.

  1. How were the gifts chosen?

Helena: It was a great collaboration. Everyone added something. The gifts that I picked are things that my family has tried and loves (or wants). I use the Artistry products, I read PRESS HERE to my son, and I totally want to get my husband those Thundercat shoes!

Dariela: There are so many products out there that I like and want to share with the world. I usually choose a product because I love the design plus it has great functionality like the Gelaskins cover and the ABC custom print, but It was hard to stop choosing and not make the guide 300 pages long!

  1. What is your favorite gift in the guide?

Denisse: I loved the Silk Thread Bracelets by Erika Yelo. I want them now!

Helena: I was going to say the same thing! She beat me to it.  So I’ll go with the Thundercat Converse or the Eye-Fi card.

Dariela: Can I have 2? I’m in-between the Gelaskin covers and the ABC custom print!

  1. What does getting together amongst amigas and putting this guide together mean to you?

Helena: We’ve had a great time working on the guide and I think it shows. Being able to work with two people that are as a passionate about something as you are is priceless!

Denisse: I feel honored to be working with such talented women. Dariela’s design skills and Helena’s copywriting and ideas made the 3 Amigas Holiday Gift Guide a project to be proud of.

Dariela: It means a lot! Getting out of each us comfort zone and figuring things out is great. I think it makes us grow our friendship and our business skills.

  1. We love to share our customs, traditions and even more if it is between friends. What is one holiday tradition you would like share with us?

Denisse: I have two favorite traditions. One is Advent Sundays, when my family and friends get together the previous 4 Sundays in different houses before Christmas and, among other things, we eat tiny sandwiches and homemade hot chocolate. The other one is Nochebuena. My family gets together, and the kids wait anxiously until midnight, when we hug each other, eat a special dinner and open gifts. They get to stay up really late that day!

Helena: I really enjoy New Year’s Eve and all the traditions that come with it. I’m the one wearing red underwear for el amor,  eating lentils for the money, counting down the campanadas and swallowing grapes and then running around the block with a maleta. This year I’ll take out an extra big suitcase because next year I want to go to Paris.

Dariela: I love the tradition of singing Venezuelan Christmas carols to the Niño Jesus in the Nativity scene at home. We used to do this every Christmas, we played instruments and sing, and friends came over after midnight when Jesus was born. And another one is New Year’s Eve celebration, for me it is so important to be along with as much family and friends around, have a huge party and kiss and hug everybody at midnight saying Feliz Año, Feliz Año!

One of the things I most love about social media is the ability to connect and develop friendships no matter what part of the country you are in and be able create something great from it.

Congratulations ladies!!
