We just got back from the LATISM 2012 conference which took place in Houston, Texas last week. We’re still taking in all that happened while we were there, the people we got to meet, and the learning experiences we had. But, for sure, one of the most exciting events for the LBC team was going up to accept the LATISM ’12 Award for “Best Latino Social Network Leader,” an honor we have now received two years in a row!

Go here for the full list of winners.

This award is definitely something we have thanks to you — and not only because of your vote. We owe this to you because it’s thanks to this community and the original work you all create that there’s even a space for what we do.

On November 4th we’ll be celebrating our two years anniversary. In 2010 the Latina blogging community was still small, yet vibrant. We were barely finding our way. Now, we are a force to be reckoned with and now many of us are claiming our space as leaders in the mainstream market. That’s not to say that we have it made; it actually means that now that the spotlight is on all of us, we have to work even harder to excel and continue to grow in our professionalism and elevate to the next level.

We will continue to work closely with our clients to make sure the campaigns we bring you are thoughtful and engaging. We will also continue expanding to be able to create the community resources and accessibility we always envisioned.

I also want to thank our editor, Jessie Nuez, for keeping the blog alive and for providing tips and tools that matter.

Another big ¡Gracias! goes out to all our contributors, but especially to Tracy López that has been with LBC for almost two years and has brought us every single Thursday the Latina Bloggers Connect Round-Up to keep up with the news from and about you.

And, of course, LBC can not happen anymore without Rachel Mátos — herself also a LATISM Awards winner for her blog The Art Muse! — and Lidia Sagastume. Rachel is not only my right arm and LBC´s pillar, but also the one that keeps us all stylish and looking great in photos! Lidia is more than the LBC project coordinator, she’s become indispensable in so many aspects of the company.

To all of you, a huge thanks!

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if we could be doing anything better.

If one grows, we all grow.
